How do I adjust a video camera tube?
I have one of those ancient (1982) tube based video cameras. It’s the sort that connects to a portable VCR using a ten-pin connector I plugged it in last night and it was working fine, although when I tried it again today it has a very green tint on the picture. How would I fix this? I know you probably think it is the white balance (logically it would be) but I can assure you it isn’t. None of the controls fix it. What should I do?
It is an Akai VC-X2E, if that helps.
oh wow…
You know what you should do when you have an electronic device malfunctioning and none of the controls fix it – you take it to a technician. Same thing that George Lucas’ cameraman would do.
Judging by the age of your camera, it might very well be your tube dying. I just witnessed a Sony CRT (tube) TV die last week (sort of imploded), and the first step was that a few weeks earlier the display got a very pink tint to it that was beyond any of the controls.
Really, find a tech who knows how handle these…
