Will my sheet rock wall dry out if I paint it?
There was a slight leak which is fixed.
Everything is generally dried out. I want to paint now, however, the wall feels slightly damp to the touch, sheet rock is not damaged. If I paint it with water base paint, will the wall dry as the paint dries? I do not want the sheet rock to deteriorate or mold to form.
Let it dry first. Put a fan and dehumidifier in the room to help it along.
Once dry, you can paint it.
If there are any water stains you may want to use Kilz primer to stop the stain from coming through.
