why do parts of my turtles shell flake off?
i have a yellow belly and a map and from time to time Small flakes of there shell come off, is this normal? i have searched the web but couldn’t find any info. I wondered if it could be something to do with soft shell, but there shells are not soft anywhere. they have a large basking area with light and loads of water i feed them turtle pellets and a mix of fish/worms that have been purchased from an aquatics supplier
its just shedding a little its normal and nothing to worry about but if the pieces of shell being shed are really big then it may be a problem
