What spandex lycra clothes can I wear in public?
I was interested if it’s acceptable for a slim male to wear lycra spandex in public.
I would like to wear leggings, cycling shorts etc and would be interedted in what you would think if you saw me…

If you are on a bike in biking clothing, or running in leggings, that’s all good. I see it all the time, and I never think twice.
I have seen a few guys recently in really form fitting t-shirts which are a lot like a cyclist’s shirt, except minus the bright colors and seams and/or pockets. When worn with jeans, I think that’s fine as long as you aren’t so slim you are all angles with bones poking out all over the place.
If you just want to wear that stuff for casual wear, I would say probably not. I don’t think exercise clothing, which is essentially what that is, looks good when worn as casual clothing. The only exception to that is people running around doing errands in sweats or sweat suits, and even that is a little tacky sometimes. For normal casual wear, such as hanging out with friends, I would recommend shorts or jeans and a t-shirt, polo, or other regular shirt.
If I saw you, I would assume you were in the middle of a workout. There are a couple of older gentlemen in my area who are avid runners, and I see them all the time in leggings and long sleeve t-shirts, with their running shoes. It looks a little strange when they are eating out at a casual place with their wife, or shopping at the mall.
