What can I do with pitas and cucumber sauce w/o gyro meat?
I bought a “kit” which included pita bread, cucumber sauce and gyro meat because it was the only way I could find the gyro meat in our small town. Now I am left with pita bread and cucumber sauce….what can I make with it?
Everyone else is right about using other meat to substitute for gyro meat.I would use steak or chicken chopped up and cooked.Take the cucumber sauce (knowing cheap company products,it’ll taste cheap)put some minced garlic, a splash of vinegar,salt and pepper.Put garlic butter on the pita and pan-fry till soft or crispy on both sides season with Greek spices or oregano,your choice.Put in chopped veggies in with it,i recommend tomatoes or red onion and wrap it up.
