Finger Nails?
I hate having very short finger nails so I am going to go get them done but I am not sure if I want Gels or Acrylics.
I have a few questions:
Which is better for my nails, how long between fill-ins, which (generally) costs more and over all which should i go with?

I think acrylics are much better for you. Gels cost a lot more and can break easier. No nail procedure is good for your nails, because when they prep your nails by “roughing it up,” they are taking off the first layer of your nail. (Don’t worry, it won’t hurt, I promise.)
Generally, if you want nails that look good all the time, I would suggest a fill or balance every 2 weeks, depending on how fast your nails grow. Some people could get a way with not filling their nails for 3 weeks, but I wouldn’t push it any longer. Just make sure to keep up with the fills, because if you wait too long and the acrylics lift, there might be potential for fungus when water is trapped between the acrylics and your natural nail bed.
If you like to wear color, just go with the regular acrylics. But if you like the look of a french tip, go with pink and white. Every store has a certain way of applying the pink and white procedure. How we do it is applying a white tip, putting white powder of the tip, applying the light pink powder over the entire nail (the pink powder is very light pink, it’s suppose to resemble the pinkness on your natural nail bed), and when all the procedure is done (filing and so on), applying buffing cream to each nail and buffing it until it’s shiny. SO PRETTY THAT WAY. It’s way better than using clear polish for the shine. It’s so shiny with the buffing cream and you don’t have to worry about the shine going away after a certain time. Pink and white cost a little more, but if done right is completely worth it. If you just don’t care and just want french, just get regular acrylics and have them airbrush french on ur nails. They’ll probably charge you $3-$6 more for the french on top of the regular acrylics. Anything french will cost more.
