Best method to whiten naturally yellow teeth? My enamel has always been yellow and with time, has darkened.?
It is possible that when your teeth were developing something effected the color of the enamel. If that is the case, unfortunately, they will never be bright white.
That said, as we age, our teeth darken. So with a realistic expectation you can try whitening. You have two options. At home or professional.
If you can afford professional whitening, I would do that. The products are stronger, work faster, and are applied by someone that knows what they are doing. Some offices offer deep bleaching, which mostly consists of two sessions of whitening vs one.
If you can’t afford professional services, try the one made by Rembrandt. They make a professional product that is fantastic. Also most products come with a satisfaction guarantee, so keep your receipt and request your money back if it doesn’t work.
Some pointers. You must stop eating foods that darken your teeth while going through the process of whitening. These foods are anything with a lot of dark dyes, tea, coffee, soy sauce, and red wine. Brush immediately after you eat anything. You can boost the process by using a whitening tooth paste and rinse.
The at home process is very slow and sometimes hard to judge whether you are making any progress if any vs professional whitening the results are immediate.
Any whitening product will cause sensitivity. I have done both processes and prefer the professional. My reason is at home whiting takes about 2 – 3 weeks and the sensitivity while temporary was more than I wanted to deal with. With the professional whitening I had the sensitivity for about 3 days after and then was done. For me it was worth every penny to be whiter and brighter and not fussing with the process for weeks and to have the sensitivity over in a few days.
